Across Verizon, we spent, directly and indirectly, $4.85 billion in goods and services from diverse suppliers in 2016. We are a proud charter member of the Billion Dollar Roundtable, a coalition of companies that spends more than $1 billion each year with diverse suppliers.

Working with small businesses drives operational efficiencies for our customers. In the federal space, we see great value from small business with competencies that complement and enhance Verizon’s service offerings.
This is beneficial to all parties, but these relationships are especially important to the community, as they support job creation and growth in local economies.
We work with small businesses throughout the year, and are continually seeking new companies to enhance our small business ecosystem and help us provide successful customer engagements.

We focus on small businesses that possess extensive agency experience and a track record of delivering competitive solutions. We look for companies that have unique capabilities and experience in managed services, security and advanced communications.
Verizon was named the U.S. Department of Treasury’s 2016 Large Business Contractor of the Year. In addition to receiving an exceptional rating on our WITS 3 contract, our primary contract vehicle at Treasury, we were recognized for driving 53 percent of WITS 3 subcontracting opportunities to small and disadvantaged businesses.

I just wanted to drop a note to say THANK YOU for hosting the Small Business Summit Strategy Session today. This was the most valuable meeting that we have ever attended and showed a true commitment by Verizon to its small business partners.
I want to drop you all a quick note on the Federal Small Business Summit today, and say thank you. You did and excellent job pulling it all together. The Match Making was well attended by Verizon’s Sales team. The event as a whole was very professionally done. I’m excited to see Verizon’s dedication to small business. Good stuff.
